Quick Switcher
Overview
The Quick Switcher is a floating popup that appears centered on the active screen when you press Mod+Tab. It shows all windows and workspaces, lets you search by name, and switches focus with a single keystroke.
Layout Modes
Screen Layout (default)
Windows grouped by physical display in left-to-right columns. Each column has a Visible section and a Dock section for minimized windows.
App List (A-Z)
Windows grouped alphabetically by app name, with workspaces shown first. Toggle between modes with the layout button in the search bar.
Searching
Start typing to filter windows by app name and window title. WinPin uses fuzzy matching that scores results: exact match > prefix > word-boundary > substring > subsequence. The result count updates as you type.
Press Backspace to delete the last character, or Escape to clear the filter.
Workspace Chips
Saved workspaces appear as a horizontal scrollable row at the top. Click a chip to activate that workspace — non-member windows are minimized, members are unminimized, positioned, and raised.
Toolbar Controls
- Layout toggle — Switch between Screen Layout and App List.
- Mini display map — Shows a miniature Canvas-drawn view of all screens with window rectangles.
- Focus Mask toggle — Enable/disable the focus mask overlay.
- Opacity slider — Adjust focus mask opacity (10%-80%), visible when mask is enabled.
